On Tuesday, August 26, 2025, the Department of Anatomy, Faculty of Science, Mahidol University, organized a Special Seminar in Anatomy entitled “Genetic Code Expansion (GCE): A Cutting-Edge Tool for Protein Research and Therapeutic Applications.”
The event was officially opened by Associate Professor Wattana Weerachatyanukul, Deputy Dean for Academic Affairs and Salaya Campus, and a faculty member of the Department of Anatomy, who warmly welcomed the distinguished speaker and participants.
The seminar was honored by the presence of Krittalak Chakrabandhu, Ph.D., Head of the Genetic Code Expansion Facility, Institut Biologie Valrose, Université Côte d’Azur, France, who delivered the invited lecture.
Dr. Krittalak’s lecture provided in-depth insights into the principles and applications of Genetic Code Expansion (GCE) in protein engineering, biomedical research, and therapeutic development. The seminar attracted significant interest from faculty members within and outside the department, researchers, and graduate students.
In the Q&A session, participants actively engaged with thought-provoking questions, to which Dr. Krittalak responded with highly valuable explanations and recommendations.
At the conclusion of the seminar, Associate Professor Wattana Weerachatyanukul expressed gratitude to the guest speaker, presented a token of appreciation, and joined in a group photograph to commemorate the occasion.
