On Monday, September 15, 2025, the Department of Anatomy, Faculty of Science, Mahidol University, organized a Special Seminar in Anatomy entitled “Neural Marker Expression in Hemocytes: Linking the Immune and Nervous Systems in Crayfish.” at room AN1-202, 2nd floor, AN1 building, Department of Anatomy, Faculty of Science (Phayathai campus), Mahidol University.
The event was hosted by Assistant Professor Dr. Somyoth Sridurongrit, who warmly welcomed the invited speaker and participants. The seminar was delivered by Assistant Professor Dr. Thanapong Kruangkum, a faculty member of the Department of Anatomy and the Center of Excellence for Shrimp Molecular Biology and Biotechnology (CENTEX Shrimp).
Dr. Thanapong’s presentation provided in-depth insights into the expression of neural markers in crayfish hemocytes, highlighting the links between immune functions and the nervous system. His talk offered new insights into comparative immunology and neurobiology in invertebrates.
The participants included faculty members, researchers, and graduate students. The Q&A session began with questions from graduate students and was followed by inquiries from faculty members, creating a truly academic atmosphere.
The Anatomy department is grateful to Dr. Thanapong for his academic excellence and for inspiring our AN-MUSC community. We shared an enjoyable moment in a group photograph.
