On February 6-7, 2025, the Department of Anatomy, Faculty of Science, Mahidol University, in collaboration with Histocenter (Thailand) Co., Ltd., organized a hands-on training workshop titled Live Cell Imaging Training with Mica Microhub and DMi8 Inverted Microscope. The workshop was led by Professor Dr. Kanokpan Wongprasert, Head of the Central Laboratory Unit, and was conducted entirely in English. The participants included research assistants and graduate students from the department at both master’s and doctoral levels.

February 6, 2025 – Training on Mica Microhub for Live Cell Imaging

The first day focused on the Mica Microhub system. The morning lecture session, held at meeting room AN1-202, covered the Principles of Fluorescent and Live-Cell Imaging and Mica Hands-on: Imaging and Analysis with Widefield and Confocal Techniques. In the afternoon, participants engaged in Practical Training with Mica and Maintenance in room B109/2, where they gained hands-on experience in operating and maintaining the equipment effectively.

February 7, 2025 – Training on DMi8 Inverted Microscope

The second day emphasized the use of the DMi8 Inverted Microscope. The morning lecture session took place at meeting room AN1-202, introducing the fundamentals of Inverted Microscopy and covering How DMi8 Works: Imaging and Analysis with Brightfield, Phase Contrast, and Fluorescence Techniques. In the afternoon, participants underwent Practical Training with DMi8 and Maintenance at room AN101, where they refined their skills in handling the microscope.

This workshop provided valuable training in Live Cell Imaging techniques, enhancing participants’ skills and understanding of advanced imaging tools. By equipping researchers and students with expertise in high-end microscopy, the program contributed to strengthening their capabilities in biological sciences research, benefiting future studies in the field.
